On July 7th Jeri Stanfield, a local REALTOR with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices IN Realty based in Lafayette, IN, was heading to a client’s home to list her client's home. On the way, it is believed she had a seizure and fell off her golf cart causing a severe concussion and multiple lesions and fractures in her vertebrae. She was hospitalized in ICU at St. Vincent Indianapolis and where she stayed in the Trauma 1 Unit for a week. She was then transferred to Lafayette St Elizabeth Rehabilitation Unit where she is to stay for another three weeks and undergo intensive rehabilitation treatment. She has 6 broken vertebrate's in her neck alone! She has been experiencing seizures and staff are working to get a diagnosis. Furthermore, she will not be able to drive for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year.
Jeri loves her work and enjoys traveling anywhere and everywhere, especially with her husband and children.
Very recently, only a couple days after arriving to Lafayette, she experienced new intense pains. They did an X-ray & found something “off” so she was rushed immediately to get an MRI. That showed a C6&7 fracture, which had already been fixed during the previous surgery was compromised.
Please keep Jeri and her family in your prayers. Her mother-in-law has stepped in to help care for the three children while her husband, Joey, has remained by her side and serving as her health advocate during this difficult time.
Let's lift Jeri up in prayer, words of encouragement, acts of service bringing them a prepared meal and/or donate to help this family while there is a significant expense in medical needs, in home care and rehab, loss of wages from her inability to work full time, travel expenses and daily living expenses for the family.
I encourage you to make a difference! Be the change. It starts now with you. Thank you for your support and contribution to this worthy cause and keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
