Garrett Kiefer, 15 of West Lafayette
On March 23rd, 2022, the Kiefer family's world was rocked when Garrett Kiefer was admitted to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital with a baseball-sized tumor in the occipital lobe of his brain. He underwent a complex brain surgery, followed by months of grueling chemo and radiation treatments from Indianapolis to Chicago. Thanks to a powerful combination of unwavering faith, medical intervention, and the outpouring of prayers and support, Garrett achieved remission from cancer. On October 18,2024, their world crashed around them again as another surgery was needed to remove a tumor from Garrett’s spinal canal. Unfortunately the surgical team was unable to remove all of the tumor without damaging nerves that could potentially paralyze Garrett. As most of you know Garrett’s mother Bobbie and her five children have endured so much hardship over the past 10 years. Bobbie’s battle with thyroid cancer in addition to a long fight herself against breast cancer to the devastating loss of her husband and father of their children in a snowmobile accident when Garrett was a young age of 5 years old. Most recently the unexpected death of their rock, her father and amazing grandfather to her children, Bob Beckett, left them with another loss and void in their lives. This family along with their loved ones and friends are ready to fight this dreaded disease and support Garrett in every way possible. Wearing their heart on their sleeves, this family is always giving and would never ask for help, which is why I’m reaching out on their behalf. Prayers for Garrett’s fight against Cancer for the second time and any monetary donation you wish to give would be greatly appreciated. Gas cards, food cards and Visa cards can be directly donated if you wish by contacting Mary Brummet, 765-299-6200. Text/voicemail for a reply.
